Alan: Must we? (Это пример т.н. "вопроса-переспроса". Они выражают различные эмоции: удивление, несогласие, радость и многие другие чувства. Могут переводится на русский язык, как "Да?"; "Неужели?"; "Вот здорово!" и проч. )
Amy: Yes, darling. We can go there tonight (сегодня вечером). Debbyexpecting us.
Alan: Oh, dear. Tonight? It’s so cold.
Amy: But darling, it n’t cold at all. It’s nice and warm. (Пример т.н. "устойчивого выражения". Такие выражения следует учить наизусть. На русский язык они не переводятся дословно, т.е. каждое слово не нужно переводить отдельно. В данном контексте перевод - "довольно тепло")
Alan: Hum…it far?
Amy: Well, it’s in Hampstead.
Alan: In Hampstead? But that’s miles and miles from here. (Еще один пример "устойчивого выражения". Можно перевести как "Туда ехать и ехать" или "Это не близкий путь"). No Amy, Inot going. ("Я не поеду". 2 модуль "серый" или "Present continuous" можно употреблять в разговоре для выражения действия в ближайшем будущем, когда это/и действие/я запланированы. В данном случае употребляется отрицательное предложение, означающее, что планов поехать куда-то нет.)
Amy: But therea good bus service (автобусное сообщение) to Hempstead.
Alan: Look here, Amy. Must I really go? Tell me all about Debby’s flat. Then I needn’t go.
Amy: All right, listen. It has two rooms and a kitchen. There two windows and one door in each room. There

Alan: A present? Oh well, let’s give her some flowers from our garden. Theresome lovely daffodils (нарциссы) right (прямо; вот тут) under our bedroom window.
Amy: Flowersall right. But let’s give her something useful (полезный/ая/ое/ые) too. Curtains (a curtain - занавеска), for example (например).
Alan: Curtains? All right. Let’s buy her some curtains.
Amy: Or a lamp, perhaps.
Alan: Good, let’s buy her a lamp.
Amy: There’s a good shop not far from Debby’s place. Let’s call in (to call in - зайти куда-л.; забежать к-л. ) it on our (my; his; your; their) way (по пути куда-л.) to Debby’s (-'s - означает место, где живет или находится кто-л).
Alan: Look here (= слушай разг.), Amy. I have an idea. Let’s give Debby that funny lamp from our bedroom (спальня).
Amy: What? Youcrazy (to BE crazy - сходить с ума), Alan.
Alan: Why? What’s wrong (to BE wrong with - не так; не правильно) with that? Flowers from our garden, and a lamp from our own bedroom. Very nice.
