Alan Amyaway, Debby. She’s gone to Devon to stay with her mother and father.

Debby: Oh, bother! But what about you, Alan? Could you come, perhaps?

Alan Well, Irather tired. I’ve had a lot of work today. What the filmit, Debby?

Alan: you got any aspirin, Amy? I have a headache.

AmyWait a minute. I must have a bottle of aspirins in my bag. Yes, here it.

AlanThank you. I’ve had a lot of work today.

AlanWell, I. I’ve had a very busy day.

AmyI can make you a cup of tea.

AlanThat’s a very good idea. Yes, make me a cup of tea. Thank you, darling.

AmyBut give me a cigarette, please, Alan. In’t had time for a cigarette today. I’ve too busy.

AlanReally? There’s a packet of cigarettes on my desk. No, wait a minute. There must  in one of the pockets of my coat.

AmyI can’t find them. I’ve found a box of matches, and a book of stamps, but there aren’t any cigarettes.

AlanOh, silly of me! Of course, theyn’t there! Here they , on the table! They here all the time.
